March UOVA Monthly Meeting Minutes

Mike will present first. We discuss the details of merging UOVA’s Open schedule with Wasatch Beach for the year. Everyone likes the idea. We would like Wasatch to submit the results from ALL of their tournaments to us so that we can keep totals with our Open tournaments and theirs. We vote to propose the ideas to the Directors at the Tournament Directors Meeting next week.
Bob Ward wonders if our current by-laws will conflict with Wasatch having alcohol on the premises during tournaments. Last year’s Director’s Handbook says that no alcohol shall be on the premises. Bob proposes to change the wording to state that “no illegal substance allowed on premises” instead.
Lori’s husband presents the new UOVA website to the Board and explains how to use the functions. Each Board member will have their own account for e-mail – name@uova.com . The website will go live after the Director’s meeting.
Traci presents the financial report. It looks great and is accepted. Traci informs the Board that Bob Aamodt resigned and cannot do the financials – so she would like to resign from the role of President and resume her financial responsibilities.
Lon asks about ordering new nets. The Board approves the purchase of 4 new nets. It is decided that the nets will be stored at the Redwood Rec Center and managed by Amelia.
Permission is also given to purchase 40 new volleyballs.
Kevin presents the member bags and his design for the 2009 T-shirt. It will be voted on at the Director’s Meeting. Also, he is finished revising the rule book and he will send it out via e-mail for everyone to look over.
Lon will look into printing fridge magnets of the schedule. They will costs $0.85 each.
Lyndsey will look into coupons from Noodles to include in the bags. She will also let the Board use a room at her facility to assemble the member bags. Traci will get pizza for that, and it will be scheduled for Wednesday, April 15 at 6pm at Dimple Dell.
The Spring Opener is set for April 18 and Banyan will be running it. Lon will be thereto help out.
Next meeting is April 13 at 9am.
