June UOVA Monthly Meeting Notes
June 8th

Approval of May Board Minutes – Motion by Sundi, Second by Kevin
Approval of April Board Minutes – Motion by Banyan, Second by Sundi
Financials: Presented by Traci. Review all expenses & income & account balances
Membership for year to day: 388 Paid members that have checked in, incl. 58 youth. Total: 451 including board and those not checked in.
Reimbursements: Banyan – $433.28 For Opener food ($258.29), Trademark ($75), and Gift for Robert for website ($100)
Lon – $45 for links for rings on top of nets.
Kevin – $1592.49 for second order of tees and packs. Tees were same price as original batch due to reprint.
Reimbursement approval: Lori Motions. Lon Seconds.
Old Business:
White listing – Lori: what she was looking into turned out to not really be a white list. It is more of a way for non-profits to send emails. We are okay with current method.
New registration – Banyan sill working on it.

New Business:
Shea Seever – start a new ‘drop-in’ tournament. Coed 4s – 3 guys, 1 girl because more guys than girls. Teams are drawn each week. Pay $3, everyone must be on time. Play ‘til sundown. 3 – 3.5 hours. Money goes towards paying for nets.
UOVA concerns and ideas: Insurance and logistic issues? Possibly partner with County? Maybe have a Jr’s division? Maybe we don’t sanction, just advertise?
We will look into this further. Traci will check with County to see if there is something we can partner on. Shea will check with Boise director to get more info on how they do things. We can do more advertising on UOVA site – probably through Forums.
Current nets: Lon will check with Amelia to go through.
We need a page on website for logos. Place for tourney directors to download logos for website. Kevin will send logos in single color to Banyan who will publish.
Advertising Boise tournament? Conflicts with Dusk ‘til Dawn. So we won’t advertise.
Board member responsibilities: Make sure you are representing UOVA Board professionally.
Tournament Directors Refunding for UOVA memberships day of: Counties, cities, etc. don’t have the ability to refund difference if a member signs up for UOVA. If a member registers for UOVA online, then pre-registers for tournament, they should preregister as UOVA member, paying UOVA price. Use “ONLINE” as member #. If player registers for UOVA day of tournament, and has pre-registered for tournament, it is at tournament directors discretion whether to refund difference or not. Banyan will add note on UOVA membership confirmation email to use “ONLINE” for preregistration for tournament.
Sunset Showdown change of format: Wants to do just Coed. Traci will suggest Reverse Coed. Banyan will update website after Traci confirms.
Sundi – Coupons – Will try to distribute at future tournaments. Possibly Ogden.
