August UOVA Monthly Meeting Minutes

Excused: Lynsdey Henderson, Lori Taylor, Banyan Sillito
Motion to approve June and July minutes. Bob motions and Amelia seconds.
Financial Statement reviewed – 395 Adult Memberships and 76 Youth Memberships so far this year.
Request for reimbursement of funds: Bob bought a battery charger for the camera. Doesn’t know the exact amount yet so will reimburse later.
Weekly Drop-In update: Shay is doing great and the weekly drop in has been a great success. There has been a request to split the play into 3 divisions instead of 2, so we will mention that to Shay. Shay would like to request funds to purchase an EZ-Up and a water cooler for this. Sundi motions to grant the request, Bob seconds. Kevin Willett will purchase an EZ-Up and then print the UOVA logo on two sides of it. Budget of around $200. Shay can purchase the water cooler herself and be reimbursed. **Traci will send out an e-mail blast to the tournament directors to let them know that they can bring flyers to advertise at the drop-in league.
Discussion on whether or not to lower the price of a membership this late in the year or if we want to do Bob’s idea of selling it in conjunction with next year’s membership. It is voted down.
Sunset will for sure be Reverse Co-Ed. September 26th.
Bob requests for the mailer to be sent out on the 1st instead of as scheduled and Traci approves.
Lon motions to buy 4 more new nets and it is approved. Bob will order 20 more volleyballs as well.
